The teen accused of leaving her infant to die outside for more than three days was formally arraigned on Thursday.

Chemung County prosecutors say 17-year-old Harriette Hoyt was indicted for second-degree attempted murder, reckless endangerment and abandonment of a child.

The child was found more than 2 weeks ago by people walking by a home on Walnut Street in Elmira. The victim was found in a garbage bag in a group of bushes.

That infant was taken to a Rochester hospital and was later released to foster care.
