WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. -- Wegmans' online grocery delivery service, a partnership with Instacart, is up and running in Buffalo. The service begins in Rochester later this month, then moves into the Syracuse market.

How it works is shoppers like Steve fill up a cart so you don't have to. You can get pretty much everything inside the supermarket, with a few exceptions.

"They won't be able to buy alcohol and any of those specialty-prepared food items like subs or pizzas, or anything off our hot bars," said Michele Mehaffey, Wegmans spokesperson.

Deliveries are made from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., and you can place orders for demand within two hours, or order up to a week in advance. There's a delivery fee of $6, but there are promos to get the service free for a year. In some cases, items are slightly marked up to cover operation expenses.

Instacart has so far hired some 200 people to do your shopping.
