BUFFALO, N.Y. -- BuffaloCryo on Scott Street has treated hundreds of clients since opening its doors a little more than a year ago. The cryotherapy chamber exposes the body to cold temperatures, and co-owner Patrick Connors says the body then produces anti-inflammatories, which he says is to enhance muscular and joint recovery.

"We aren't putting anything in the body. The body is reacting to the cold in the cryo chamber and basically gearing up and that's what brings the inflammation down," Connors said.

Clients wear next to nothing in the chamber - just underwear, gloves, socks and rubber shoes. As much skin as possible is exposed for about three minutes.
