The Guilderland school community is mourning after a teenager died from her injuries after a weekend car crash. Barry Wygel has more from Guilderland High School with more on how the school is remembering Alyssa Gelfand.
One of the three Guilderland High School students involved in a crash on Hurst Road Sunday has died.
Police say a car driven by 17-year-old Alyssa Gelfand crashed before 8:30 Sunday night. Gelfand was airlifted to Albany Medical Center with severe traumatic injuries, and has now died, according to Guilderland Police.
The two passengers, identified as 16-year-old Sophia Melfe and 17-year-old Sergio Medina, were also sent to the hospital with non-critical injuries.
Police believe speed was an issue and alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
