NORTH CAROLINA -- Tar Heel State Dunkin’ fans have something to look forward to. The company announced last week it will open 12 new North Carolina locations in the coming years.
Four Dunkin’ Donuts locations are planned for the Charlotte area, within Hickory, Lenoir, Marion and Morganton. The first of these is slated to open in 2018.
The other eight restaurants will open in Winston-Salem, the hometown and headquarters of rival Krispy Kreme.
There are currently 10 Dunkin’ Donuts locations in Winston-Salem and over 300 locations throughout North Carolina. The company is based out of Massachusetts.
