CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. -- Six lucky kids are checking some toys off their Christmas lists thanks to the Buffalo Police Department.
Officers took the kids who come from low-income families on a shopping spree at the Walmart in Cheektowaga Friday as part of their "Shop with a Cop" event.
Each child received $150 to spend donated by the police department and Walmart.
"It makes us feel great, it's a genuine feeling to be able to give back to not only the kids but the community and see them smile and be happy," said Bradford Pitts, Buffalo Police Department. "I mean it's an awesome feeling, we didn't do this for any publicity or anything else, we just did it because genuinely we just care about the community and wanted to give back."
Children were also treated to pizza and wings courtesy of Carbones.
