ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Tiny Tim, and Scrooge taught the true meaning of Christmas during a special performance at Geva Theatre.

Geva hosted its seventh annual Home of the Holidays event.

Veterans, Blue Star Families and active-duty service men and women got a free entry to a showing of “A Christmas Carol.”

Organizers say the event is a real crowd-pleaser.

“There’s just so much joy and you know we really do love the Blue Star Families,” said Kevin Sweeney, Geva Theatre marketing director. “Single mothers raising their children or single dads taking care while their partners are serving, so for those children that come in, in recognition of that service and celebrate. It’s very special to every in the Geva family. The cast absolutely loves doing this performance. It’s their favorite one of the run.”

The event is made possible by donations from Wegmans, RG&E and Leo’s Bakery.
