AUSTIN, Texas—On Tuesday, the FBI along with the Austin Police Department announced a new addition to the FBI Top Ten Most Wanted List.
Authorities said Robert Francis Van Wisse, of Guadalajara, Mexico, is wanted in connection with the 1983 murder and sexual assault of Laurie Stout, 22, of Austin.
According to the FBI’s website, on the night of the murder, Van Wisse, a student enrolled at UT Austin, was in the building registering for a course. An investigation determined that Van Wisse was the last person seen in the building before the murder.
"Despite all the difficult things this has caused for my family, we still need one thing and that's justice," said the victim's daughter.
The FBI says Van Wisse was previously employed as an English teacher in Mexico.
Authorities said he may possibly be employed in the medical field, or he could be working on a coconut and banana plantation in Mexico.
