CHAPEL HILL -- Before UNC-Chapel Hill hosted NC State Friday at Kenan Memorial Stadium, tailgaters flooded the parking lots.
"This is our normal crowd, most of us went to pharmacy school together here at UNC, and so this is our group for the past 25 years that's been coming to the games," said Tar Heel fan John Evans. He, his family and friends had an elaborate set up complete with games and food.
Not too far away from him was another tailgating paradise. Fans took over the space outside the Dean Dome with music, more food and games and a little bit of football. As big as the rivalry is between the two schools, fans enjoyed each other's company.
"Carolina fans...they'll welcome you in. They'll hang out with you. And it'll be OK, until after the game," said Wolfpack fan Taft Franklin.
