WEST SENECA, N.Y. -- West Seneca Town Supervisor Sheila Meegan is getting a raise, but it's not sitting well with everyone.

Some shouts of disapproval at a town board meeting Monday night after members approved a nearly $10,000 raise for Meegan.

That brings her salary to $72,500, but it's less than the $18,000 increase she originally asked for.

"No one would even have been here if she had asked for a three, five percent increase in her pay. That would have been fair," West Seneca resident Mike Wach said. "She ended up getting 12 or 14 percent and everyone thinks we won something? That's ridiculous."

A town council member says this is the first time Meegan is getting a salary increase in her seven or eight years as a supervisor.
