AUSTIN, Texas—A teenage girl whose bedside Florence and the Machine concert made an entire city smile has died.
Karinya Chen, 15, lost her six-year battle with bone cancer on Saturday.
Florence Welch and Rob Ackroyd paid Karinya a special visit in May. She had tickets at the time to go to the band's concert in Austin, but was too sick to go.
The video of the bedside concert went viral. Hospice Austin came up with the idea to invite the band. Karinya told Spectrum News a few days later she was still on cloud nine.
