State police are investigating after a car crash in the town of Mohawk claimed the life of a teenager.
Troopers responded to Van Antwerp Road around 3:45 a.m. Tuesday. They say the driver lost control of her car while going around a curve, driving off the road and into a large rock.
The passenger in that car, 18-year-old Nakiyta Passino, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver broke her leg, but is expected to survive.
State police say the two were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
