The term "man's best friend" became an understatement for a Western New York woman Friday morning.

D'Youville student and retired U.S. Army Captain Miranda Hulse met her service dog. She served three tours of duty overseas. When she returned to Buffalo, Hulse was set up with her dog, Bolt, from Rebuilding Warriors. The organization provides service dogs to disabled and discharged veterans.

"I brought him back to my house on the first day. He slept with me. He's my little shadow. He follows me all around and I love him and I think it's mutual," said Capt. Miranda Hulse, U.S. Army.

The pup received his new collar today, with his new last name engraved on it.
