ALBANY, N.Y. -- A local business is holding a fundraiser for boxing hall of famer Bob Miller, who was in a serious car accident last week and is now paralyzed from the neck down.

Atlas Jiu Jitsu in Albany is hosted a free seminar Friday and donations will be collected at the door to help Bob and his family with medical expenses.

Miller underwent surgery Friday morning in hopes of regaining feeling of his upper extremities.

The Troy native was inducted into the Boxing Hall of Fame in 2015 and currently serves as the President of the Adirondack Boxing Association.

His son Shannon is also a coach at Atlas Jiu Jitsu, and the gym's owner, Edward Anthony, says he knew he needed to help.

"When I was a young man my father had a massive stroke and I saw first hand what these kind of things can do to a family," Anthony said. "It hits home with me. Shannon's a great guy, Shannon talks about his dad a lot, I know he really looks up to his dad, loves his dad very much so when he gave me that call and told me what happened I had to help him."

For those interested in helping, a GoFundMe account has been set up for the family,
