The Syracuse University football season is right around the corner and school officials say tickets are selling well. They say about 3,000 new season ticket purchases have been made heading into the 2016 season. Brad Vivacqua has the details.
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Take one look at the 2016 Syracuse University football poster and you can see the SU football community is excited about the Dino Babers era.
The Orange will host Colgate in three weeks from Friday night in the Carrier Dome and tickets for the upcoming season are selling pretty well. They will play six home games in the Dome which includes games against Louisville, Virginia Tech, and Florida State.
Officials say there's still some lower-level season tickets available ranging from $125 to $225 which would allow you to see all six games. Upper end zone seats for the season are as low as $99.
With a new fast paced energized offense, fans have expressed their excitement in the season.
"Our fans, every time we talk with them, everything's been positive. They're really looking forward to coach’s offense. Our tickets are going as fast as coach promises his offense to be. So, when we're talking with fans on the street, they love knowing that there are other people buying into this program,” said SU Associate Athletic Director for Business Development Anthony Di Fino.
Individual game tickets are available for as little as $20 for SU's opener against Colgate on September 2.
The annual Fan Fest will take place tomorrow from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the SU Soccer Stadium near Manley Field House. Fans can watch the Orange scrimmage at 6 p.m.
