SODUS BAY, N.Y. -- A Wolcott man has life-threating injuries after a boating accident on Sodus Bay late Saturday night.
Wayne County Sherrifs office says Lawrence Wiegele, 49, and Anne Wiegele, 56, were headed north on Sodus Bay when they collided into the east breakwall around 11 p.m.
Deputies say Lawrence was thrown into the dash of the boat and is being treated at Strong Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Anne is being treated for a broken arm and multiple contusions.
Authorities believe alcohol and speed were a factor.
The accident is still under investigation and charges are pending.
