WEBSTER, N.Y. -- Xerox announced Wednesday that it will eliminate 48 jobs at its Webster Distribution Center on Phillips Road.

A company spokesman said the positions, including 42 industrial workforce positions and six salaried positions are represented by Local 14A. Their last day of work will be Aug. 29. The company also announced similar cuts at its California facility.

"Business today requires greater flexibility and the need to remain competitive. We continually review our operations to find those ways. As a result we are planning to close our consumable supplies warehouses in Webster and Cerritos and partner with a third party logistics provider to manage those operations," said Spokesman, Bill McKee in a statement.
