GUILDERLAND, N.Y. -- No one was home when a fire broke out in the attic of a house on Elmwood Street in Albany County early Sunday.
When firefighters arrived they were able to put out the fire quickly.
Crews say the fire was reported by someone in the neighborhood.
"It was reported by a passerby which was very fortunate that it happened at this time of day when somebody actually witnessed it," McKownville Fire Department Chief Russ Becker said.
The chief say there was damage to the home's rear bathroom and roof.
No word yet on what caused the fire.
