Hundreds of striking Verizon workers took to Lower Manhattan streets Thursday, holding a march to coincide with the company's annual shareholders' meeting in New Mexico.

The march began at the Verizon Building on West Street and ended at a Verizon store on Wall Street.

Other protests took place around the country as workers enter their fourth week on strike.

Those NY1 spoke to say they are demanding a better deal.

"They're looking to take away our benefits, our job security, our pensions, and move our people around anywhere they want and destroy our lives," one protestor said.

"It's about keeping our jobs, and it's about keeping our jobs here, and not outsourcing our jobs, and not gutting our pensions after working for this company for 25 years," said another.

Verizon responded, saying they have offered a 7.5 percent wage increase, job security protection, and retirement and healthcare benefits.
