BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Some of the Buffalo Sabres are going bald to raise money for Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
Three current players and one alum shaved their heads Saturday as part of the Bald For Bucks program.
Former goaltender Marty Biron joined Sabres goalie Robin Lehner in the campaign.
Mike Weber and Mark Pysyk also volunteered to give up their hair for the fundraiser.
Any money raised will help Roswell patients and fund cancer research programs.
Roswell Park officials say partnerships like this help spread awareness.
"These guys are heroes to many of these little kids that are here today and for these kids, many of whom have gone Bald for Bucks themselves, to see their heroes get up on stage and make that sacrifice that they have it's just one more affirmation to everyone that what we're doing has a great impact in this community," said Jennifer Hickok, Director of Events, Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
Bald For Bucks has raised more than $4 million since it began in 2002.
