NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. -- It was quite a sight to see if you were out and about near the Peace Bridge today. Helicopters were placing ropes across the Niagara River.

All five ropes were successfully installed from the U.S. to Canada. In the coming days, the ropes will be used to pull wires from tower to tower. The wires will connect the transmissions systems from Fort Erie to Buffalo.

The project was originally scheduled to begin sooner, but this weekend's snow delayed it.
