Buffalo, N.Y. - There's an old adage that says all good things must come to an end and for Dug's Dive at the Outer Harbor, the time is now. After nearly a decade, Dug's Dive is closing it's doors.

"Dug's Dive has had a great run, almost 9 years, where we took care of a lot of people and we changed the way people looked at the Outer Harbor. It was great to be a part of it. It was great to be able to pay our bills at the end of the day and go out in style," says Dug's Dive Owner Tucker Curtin.

Dug's Dive has been a waterfront favorite and customers say they're going to miss the Lobster Dog, the Calamarie and the Fresh Haddock Dinner.

"After a long day on the water or on the beach, sometimes we like to cook, a lot of times we like to come up and have somebody else cook for us," says Jack Lerczak.

Dug's Dive will close it's doors now that the N-F-T-A chose an out of state developer to invest in the marina. Tennessee-based company Safe Harbor Development plans to replace the docks and build a new restaurant. Dug's Dive staff members have known about the restaurant's closure for months and have made other plans for employment.

"Key staff will be sent to one of Tucker's other restaurants. He owns the Steer and Lake Effect Diner. A lot of our staff already have winter jobs. They're teachers, college students so most of them will be already set," says Dug's Dive General Manager Jimmy Carman.

Although Saturday is the final day for Dug's Dive in Buffalo, it may find life again in a different area.

"I am looking for another location. I'm looking all over the place. I plan on doing some scouting down in Florida, the Bahamas, maybe we'll get a charter boat. When one door closes, it seems like there's a lot more that open up and the possibilities are there for us to start to dream about doing some other cool things."

Curtin says Dug's Dive will officially close on Sunday at 12:01 am.
