BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Despite temperatures near 90 across New York, there's still one spot where snow exists. That's right — snow.
A nearly 10-foot high mound of snow still exists near the Central Terminal in Buffalo. The pile is covered in dirt with grass and other weeds growing on top of it. It's the site of where the city of Buffalo dumped excess snow following last year's November Storm.
Up to nine feet of snow fell in some spots including South Buffalo during the winter blast and the city used the vacant railroad station's property as a location to bring the snow as it helped dig people out. The large amount of dirt covering the pile has provided enough insulation for the snow to exist. Our Time Warner Cable News crew said the snow is still ice cold once you brush the dirt off.
It's not clear when that snow is expected to melt.
