NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. -- The ribbon was cut Wednesday on the new Rainforest Cafe on the ground floor of the Sheraton Hotel on Old Falls Street in Niagara Falls.

The cafe means more than just 200 new jobs downtown.

"This is, as I said, way more than just another food and beverage place. It's also an attraction in and of itself. It's something that's going to be fun for families to do and that's very. very important to us," said Mayor Paul Dyster, D-Niagara Falls.

"It's something missing in the area and there's multiple things that are happening, between hotels, attractions, and restaurants in the area and this is just all part of the plan and everything is going to work well together when everything gets done," said Michael Dicienzo, owner.

Rainforest Cafe has 32 locations around the world.
