SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- Police cancel an amber alert for a missing one year old from Schenectady.

The alert was activated just before midnight and cancelled around 4 o'clock this morning.

Police were looking for a one-year-old girl, Ava Reed, who they believe was abducted by her parents, Shannon Pozniakas and James Reed.

Investigators say the two missed a family court appearance in relation to an ongoing Child Protective Services investigation.

After missing court, the judge signed an order allowing CPS to take custody of Ava.

Police said the parents have a history of violence and substance abuse.
