Several police agencies were searching Tuesday in the Mount Greylock area, following new leads in cases involving convicted killer Lewis Lent. Jim Vasil has the latest on that search.
ADAMS, Mass. -- In the shadow of Mount Greylock, in the thick brush of Greylock Glen, police are looking to solve a decades-old mystery.
The Berkshire County's district attorney office said Monday that police are investigating new leads in the case against convicted serial killer Lewis Lent.
Lent confessed to kidnapping and killing 12-year-old Jimmy Bernardo, 12-year-old Sara Anne Wood, and 16-year-old Jamie Lusher, all in the 1990s.
Bernardo's body would be found, but the bodies of Wood and Lusher are still missing.
Lent, now 65, is serving three consecutive life sentences.
Police wouldn't say Tuesday what they were looking for. Only that they're searching in an area that hasn't been searched yet.
All that is known is that police want to find more clues to help piece this mystery together.
