A man who modeled for a pair of Norman Rockwell's most treasured works paid a visit Friday to the Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge.
Edward Locke is the little boy featured in these two Rockwell classics: "The Runaway," featuring a Massachusetts state trooper, and "Before The Shot," as the boy peers at his doctor's medical degree endearingly to check if his doctor is competent enough to give him the needle.
As Locke signed autographs and took selfies with fans, he recevied some light-hearted questions about his role in the artwork.
"People want to know how far my pants were down. They wanted to know if I was actually under arrest. They wanted to know if I had actually run away, which I didn't. I wandered off, but I didn't run away," Locke said.
He says it is a privilege to be part of American art history. Also, the museum has opened Norman Rockwell's preserved art studio for the season. It's open daily and is included with admission.
