LACKAWANNA, N.Y. -- Buffalo's Dyngus Day means Polish pride is on display throughout Western New York, and in Lackawanna, if you blinked you might have missed the "Worlds Shortest Dyngus Day parade."

The route was from Our Lady of Victory Basilica to City Hall and the parade lasted about 10 minutes. Although the parade was short, each step was filled with spirit.

After the brief procession, the crowd gathered for a small ceremony where an ancestral flag of Poland was raised on the flagpole.

City officials say it's a day to celebrate family, tradition and Polish-American accomplishments. The Lenten season has come to an end, and it's time to celebrate - even if it was only for a half a block.

Buffalo's Dyngus Day Parade kicks off at 5 p.m. in front of Corpus Christi Church and makes its way down Broadway before turning on Fillmore and then down Memorial Drive. We're told some of the best watching spots are the Broadway Market, St. Stan's Social Center and the Pussy Willow Party Tent on Memorial.

After the parades, plenty of venues across Western New York will host parties complete with polka and traditional Polish food until the wee hours of the morning.
