CONCORD, N.Y. -- State police are investigating a fatal accident in Concord. Troopers said speed may have been a factor in this crash Monday morning.

State Police blocked off a section of Genesee Road near Kern Road for several hours. They said 54-year-old Shelly Green of Delevan lost control of her SUV before crashing into a utility police on Genesee Road.

The crash happened around 5:30 a.m. Troopers said Green died at the scene from the impact of the crash.

Troopers said they were able to talk to a witness who saw the driver lose control of her car.

"The vehicle was at high rate of speed, left the north shoulder heading westbound and back on south shoulder before it struck the utility," said Trooper J.P. Moretti of the New York State Police.

The official cause of the accident is still under investigation. Investigators are trying to find out how fast Green was driving.
