WATERTOWN, N.Y. -- Watertown's fire department shouldn't see any changes in staffing.
That's the recommendation of a study commissioned by the city as they look for ways to save money.
The study was conducted by the International City/County Management Association.
In addition to calling for no staff additions or cuts, the study also recommends the department consider using volunteers when they need extra hands.
Currently, off-duty members are called back in for overtime.
The study also finds that dispatch times could be improved to come up to national standards.
And it also suggest some changes the city should consider bargaining for contract negotiations.
