BUFFALO, N.Y. -- A Historic theater in Buffalo is about to receive a $7 million facelift.
The group Western New York Minority Media Professionals has teamed up with Ellicott Development to restore the Sattler Broadway Theater.
The theater is one of only 23 Historic African American theaters remaining in the United States today.
Supporters are excited for the restoration, and say the rebirth will greatly impact the East Side.
"It's going to spur investment, both commercial and residential in this area, because people will see that things are starting to happen here once again," said WNY Minority Media Professionals Chief of Staff Dwayne Kelly.
The restoration process is expected to take about 18 months.
