BUFFALO, N.Y. -- A dog named Wolf that was surrendered to the SPCA will soon have a home.

The husky got a lot of attention after a Change.org page was created claiming the SPCA planned to put the dog down.

A spokeswoman for the SPCA Serving Erie County said that was never the plan. She said the dog was turned in to Town of Evans Dog Control officers and then transferred to the SPCA on Feb. 17.

After two weeks of searching for an animal rescue group aligned with a credible trainer for Wolf, the dog will be heading back to his former owner in Angola. The SPCA said the family is anxious for Wolf's return. The family plans to get medical help and provisions to care for Wolf from both the SPCA and Buffalo Pug and Small Breed Rescue.
