ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- A former TV reporter and state assembly candidate says she is now exploring a run for Rochester mayor next year.
Rachel Barnhart says on Twitter she's looking for the best opportunity to serve the city.
The former journalist recently lost a Democratic primary challenge against Assemblyman Harry Bronson for the 138th district.
There's no official word from city hall if incumbent Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren will seek a second term.
A city spokesman says the mayor is instead focused on the job at hand.
I was asked by several media outlets today if I'm running for mayor. This is my statement. #ROC pic.twitter.com/fUwvo1qTyE
