State Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie (NY-83) enjoys being able to improve things around New York in his role. He hopes to leave the state better than when he was first elected to office. 

Heastie's greatest accomplishments in office includes building a community center in the Bronx, where he grew up. His top legislative priorities in the upcoming year include making college and housing more affordable. 

Heastie would take an out-of-town visitor to White Plains Road or to the new YMCA. If he wasn't in public service, he would want to own a sports team.
