Los Angeles is fifth in the nation for worst traffic, one report says, and drivers in the area spent, on average, 128 hours stuck in traffic last year.
Alex Cohen sits down with Reed Barry, “The Traffic Guy” and Contributing Editor at LACar.com, to talk about how to avoid Southern California traffic and tips on how to plan your trips around town.
Barry says allowing extra time for your drive and using driving apps are key to navigating Los Angeles and saving time on the road.
Road rage is also a common denominator when it comes to driving in traffic.
Barry says to avoid eye contact if you see someone experiencing road rage and change the way you think to prevent it.
“Many people have very negative self-talk in life in general and they carry that over into their driving on the road. So, if you’re a more positive person, have a little more positive self-talk and as you drive, you’ll be a little more easy going on the road.”
