Construction has officially started on a $180 million power transmission line that will send renewable energy through Niagara and Erie counties.

This project will bring 20 miles of the electrical line through both counties.

NextEra Energy Transmission New York says it will allow for more renewable energy to flow freely from the Niagara hydroelectric facility, as well as electricity imported from Ontario.

Once complete, the project will bring more jobs to the area, more reliable electricity, and savings to you.

Spectrum News is told the project is expected to be completed and in service by next June.
