A case of bullying caught on camera at North Tonawanda High School has community members taking action — and standing up for the student who was targeted.

A city alderman tells Spectrum News that both the police department and school district are aware and "doing what they can to get to the bottom of it."

What You Need To Know

  • A GoFundMe has been started for the victim of a North Tonawanda High School bullying attack

  • The school and police department are aware and investigating

  • A video appears to show several girls verbally and physically attacking another student

The video — now making the rounds on social media — shows what appear to be several girls verbally and physically attacking another student at the school football field.

The community is stepping in to help after a GoFundMe account was set up for the student.

The GoFundMe says the student had a concussion, bruises, and broken glasses.

LadyJacks, a softball booster, says it would like to buy the victim a new back to school wardrobe, and even a gift for the boys who apparently intervened and stopped the attack.

"Nobody should have to go through that," said the president of the LadyJacks, Jeanette Hanse. "We'd like to provide as much empowerment and normalcy as possible. We just need to be more compassionate and positive."
