Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso talked about the funding he helped bring forward for the South Brooklyn Hospital’s new maternity health facilities.
He emphasized the importance of not only pre-birth care but also after-birth care.
The borough president created community baby showers that will give mothers without support some help with baby products and care. He explained the importance of doula care and why expanding it will help bring down the maternal mortality rate and give more women of color recognition in the labor rooms.
