"Squid Game" became a worldwide phenomenon in 2021. It’s the South Korean television program on Netflix where players take on a series of challenges based on childhood games, seeking a huge sum of money.

Fans can enter the world of "Squid Game" in Midtown Manhattan at "Squid Game: The Experience."

What You Need To Know

  • "Squid Game: The Experience" is a new immersive experience for fans of the Netflix show "Squid Game"
  • "Squid Game" debuted on Netflix in 2021

  • Season two of the program drops on Dec. 26, 2024

Netflix vice president of experiences Greg Lombardo showed NY1 around the "Squid Mart" featuring great Korean snacks curated by H Mart.

“There’s a night market that’s prevalent in the show, so that’s what was the inspiration for bringing this environment to life. We really wanted to make sure we were delivering on some really unique food items that people could explore and discover while they were here,” Lombardo said.

It’s not just snacks. Visitors can play the games just like on the show. Of course, the consequences are not as high, thankfully. There are five games inspired by the show.

“This is a chance for us to sort of bring to life that competitive nature of the games in a super-friendly environment, with games that are easy for everyone to participate in,” Lombardo said.

There is even a bar where you can get a one-of-a-kind cocktail featuring Johnny Walker celebrating different players from the game. Perhaps to celebrate winning a game! Season two of the show is on the way on Dec. 26. Netflix previously did a similar experience in Los Angeles.

“Everyone wants to put themselves inside the world of those shows that they love, and that’s what we are trying to do here,” Lombardo said.
