BUFFALO, N.Y. — After finding out their storage hut was vandalized, a local youth football team was surprised with a generous gift.

West Herr Automotive donated $36,000 to the Beast Elite Ducks.

West Herr representatives say they saw what happened on the news and wanted to help, especially since there are 150 kids involved in the program. They didn't want the kids to go without a season.

The president of the Beast Elite Ducks says they weren't able to access their Emerson Park hut during the pandemic because of COVID-19 restrictions. But when they were finally able to they found the place destroyed and valuables stolen.

A city spokesperson says the Buffalo Police Department is investigating the incident, and the city parks department has already begun the repairs.

The hope is that this money will help them replace all the helmets and the uniforms they lost.
