GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. — A sculpture of U.S. Army Private First Class Charles Deglopper was unveiled Saturday on Grand Island.

It's part of the newly expanded Deglopper Memorial.

The Grand Island native was killed in action during the Battle of Normandy. He was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his heroic actions.

Other Grand Island residents who have served in the military were also recognized at the ceremony.
