BUFFALO, N.Y. — Some Western New Yorkers celebrated Mother's Day by welcoming a new addition to the family.
Spectrum News spoke to mothers who gave birth just in time for the holiday at Mercy Hospital of Buffalo, some of them for the very first time.
The occasion is doubly important for one couple and their new bundle of joy, Remi.
"From the get-go, her expected due date was the 9th, so we knew it was a possibility our anniversary is on the 8th,” said new dad Brian Roloff. “And it's our fifth anniversary, so it's hard to describe, I guess. It's certainly special."
Another local woman is celebrating becoming a mother for the third time after delivering her newborn son.
And she's got some advice for all the new moms out there.
"I would just say enjoy every minute because it goes by fast and happy mother's day and enjoy time with your family because that's the most important,” said Maria D’Amato, who gave birth to her third child.
The moms also commended Mercy Hospital nurses for making these pandemic deliveries feel like a normal day in the maternity ward.
