Amber Knapp is just seven years old. However, vision problems are already taking hold, especially in her right eye.

She has glasses now, but they are older and scratched up. Her mom tells Spectrum News, like so many families in our area affected by COVID-19, a new pair is no longer something easily affordable.

"Everything is changing and it's hard to get places to take your insurance," Erica Knapp said, adding that she's a caregiver to her mother and her husband is currently unemployed.

On this day though, it's one less worry for her.

Eye Dance + Screen in Watertown is a brand new business. It's celebrating its first Christmas with a special giveaway, an exam and a pair of glasses for a child every day of the month.

Amber Knapp is about to see clearly for Christmas.

"It's so rewarding. I love getting up and coming to work every day and be able to provide this service to this community," Eye Dance + Screen's Kendra Lunderman said.

After her exam, Amber got to pick out her new glasses. She fell in love with a fun purple pair almost immediately.

"They are cool. They look like tigers and mermaids," Amber said of the frame color.

In all, 25 different kids got to experience what Amber and her family did. They couldn't be more thankful.
