ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Before lake-effect snow makes it hard to go anywhere, families went to Chestnut Ridge Park to get some sledding in.
Sledders told Spectrum News the snow was fluffy and perfect for sliding.
Some of the younger sledders even had a game plan when they showed up, making a track down the hill so they could pick up speed when they go down.
"Christmas has been going great so far. We're just having some fun, relaxing. Enjoying the break," said Elizabeth Asci, of Orchard Park.
"We were hoping that we could go sledding today because we heard about all this snow coming," said William Asci, of Orchard Park.
The park was also full of families walking their dogs and a snowball fight or two.
