A local woman came very close to winning a national singing competition.
Buffalo’s own 19-year-old Jada Spight was a finalist in the national gospel singing competition “Sunday Best” on the cable network BET.
Spight's powerful voice moved her though the competition and into second place.
Her family celebrated with a watch party at the King Urban Life Center.
Even though she didn't come in first, she says she not only feels like a winner, she knows she is one.
"I know that the city of Buffalo, and just all of the 716 have already shown love,” Spight said. “And they proven to me that they love me. And you know, they deem me a winner. And God deems me a winner. So that's all that matters."
The winner of the competition Stephanie Summers won $50,000, a recording contract, and the title of "Sunday Best."
