A group in North Tonawanda says they "back the blue" and that Blue Lives Matter.

North Tonawanda Neighborhood Watch hosted a rally for police at police headquarters.

The group wanted to show support and appreciation for the officers.

Rally-goers marched around the block chanting and holding signs.

They say officers deserve to be recognized and honored every day.

"They deserve the respect, the recognition on a daily basis. Not just at events like this. With all the bad going on in the world, they kind of get pushed to the side. And we want to make sure they know, the community does care," said organizer Nicole Sheppard.

Organizers say they respect freedom of speech.

But they say officers are part of the solution for helping the community move forward during this difficult time, and are not the problem.
