The Buffalo Fire Department is paying tribute to fallen Buffalo Firefighter Jason Arno.
Arno died on March 1 while fighting a massive blaze on Main Street in Buffalo's Theatre District.
The BFD on Thursday dedicated its newest engine in Arno’s name at Engine Company 2 on Elmwood Avenue and Virginia Street, the fire house Jason Arno called home.
"Firefighter Arno made the conscious decision to work at arguably one of the busiest fire houses in the city. He possessed the mental and physical toughness and warrior spirit that made him one of the best and brightest that this department has to offer,” said Buffalo Fire Commissioner William Renaldo. “On that fateful day he made the ultimate sacrifice, working with and alongside his fellow firefighters in the most challenging of environments."
Arno was 37 years old.
