Buffalo Iron Works has teamed up with Lockport’s Transit Drive-In Theatre to make sure that this summer isn’t void of live music.
“Normally this time of year, I’ve been in a field with 10,000 other people,” said Kenmore resident Ian Haskins.
They are putting on a socially-distanced summer concert series, with vehicles parked six feet apart.
“They did a good job. They stepped it up. They were one of the first places around here to do something like this, and they’re taking proper measures to keep it safe for everybody,” said Christopher Slowey of Gasport.
A portion of the proceeds are being donated to local charities that either help with the coronavirus or social injustice.
Featured bands are all local and regional. One of them is Funktional Flow, a Buffalo favorite, who has been together for ten years.
“As a band, you don’t see that very often, especially locally. We have practiced two times a week for seven years straight,” said Funkitional Flow bass player Ben Whelan.
Most summers, Funktional Flow is performing every single week, but because of the pandemic, this is their first live concert this season.
