SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Members of the Blue Angels flight crew are at Hancock Airport, preparing for this summer’s Syracuse Air Show.
The show returns after a 14-year hiatus.
The Blue Angels are the Navy’s flying aerobatic team. Pilots are mapping out the logistics of their coordinated flights.
They say there are a lot of steps to figure out because they are flying choreographed airplanes so close together.
“We’re out here so early to put everyone on the same page and make sure everyone fully understands the coordination aspect of how to put on an air show smoothly,” Lt. Tyler Davies of the Blue Angels said. “So when the air show goes off, all the questions have been answered.”
The air show is scheduled for June 11 and 12.
Other performers include The Geico Skytypers, Mike Goulian and Team Oracle’s Sean Tucker.
