BUFFALO, N.Y. — After a tumultuous week, the Buffalo Public Schools are set to being the second phase of its reopening plan.

BPS students in third, fourth, ninth, and 11th grades will return to the classroom on Monday.

That means a total of 17,000 kids and staff members will be back in district buildings.

District officials say they had to push back the original date of the phase two reopening due to a cyber attack.

Students across the city spent the past week learning from home while IT experts made progress restoring BPS systems.

They cautioned it will still take some time for the district's network to fully recover.

As for the reopening, administrators are asking drivers use caution and watch out for students near bus stops and school zones.
